2024 Tour

The second phase is dedicated to the Tour, a calendar for 10 works across Greece, Poland, Egypt, Spain, and Palestine, as per agreements already signed and attached. From the Exhibition selection, partners choose 2 artists to host at their events, giving the project an additional international boost and catapulting the artists into a global context, opening up their creative and professional opportunities.

The Exhibition and the Tour are the means and tools to achieve the main goal of the project, in line with Article 1 of the Notice, which is to promote the knowledge of contemporary visual art produced by Young Artists from Lazio beyond regional borders, developing the international careers and research of these young artists, and enhancing their professionalism through greater inclusion and participation of all such actors in the international networks involved in the project.

The main values of the project are:
– The quality of the Artists
– The quality of the Curators
– The international scope of the Exhibition in Lazio
– The prestige of the location
– The Tour with 10 dates at important European and non-European festivals partnered with Digitalatium
– The integrated communication plan for the Exhibition
– The resources for communication to foreign festivals for promoting Digitalatium artists

//// The quality of the Artists
The selection of artists is based on 23 participation documents attached to the project, resulting from an internal call within the Flyer network, particularly those of the Live Performers Meeting, Live Cinema Festival, Fotonica Festival, and among the artists of the AVnode network, of which Flyer is a part.

//// The quality of the Curators
From the 23 artists, 10 participants in Digitalatium are selected by 5 curators from equally important international digital sector festivals and organizations: Ilias Chatzichristodoulou (Greece), Elwira Wojtunik-Lang (Poland), Mohamed Allam (Egypt), Ricardo Cançado (Spain), and Hafez A. Hamdallah (Palestine), whose declarations of participation, documents, and resumes are attached.

//// The international scope of the Exhibition in Lazio
During the 30 days, the exhibition of interactive installations and video mappings will occupy the space, attended by over 500 people per day.
Friday and Saturday are the opening and closing days of the Exhibition, featuring 4 Audio Video Performances, with 2 performances each day in cinema hall 1.

The curators, partners, and especially AVnode in this phase guarantee the event’s global visibility.

The Digitalatium project aims to promote Young Artists from Lazio by placing them in an international context through a project developed in two phases: the Exhibition and the Tour. The project seeks to disseminate Audio Visual Digital Arts within a cultural offering context where such productions are increasingly desired by operators, artists, and the public due to their growing quantity and quality.

Digitalatium aims to deepen the understanding of new artistic representations expressed through a hybrid art that utilizes digital tools while drawing on major themes of traditional art, showcasing its numerous variations and styles through a broad and curated program that appeals to diverse interests. The activities included in the program are:
– Audio Video Performances
– Interactive AV Installations
– Videomapping
– Workshops

// Audio Video Performances
Audio Video performances represent an experimental narrative technique applied to performative video, creating simultaneous sounds and images in real-time, where traditional cinematic parameters expand into a broader concept.

// Audio Video Installations
Audio Video Installations represent a hybrid art form closely linked to experimentation with digital technologies, introducing participatory involvement from the viewer, configuring as an environmental work that must be physically traversed, visited, or touched rather than merely contemplated frontally.

// Video Mapping
Video Mapping is a technique that transforms every video projection into a unique performance, utilizing architectural features and reshaping the space hosting it.

// Workshops
Workshops are dedicated moments for deepening themes and tools related to digital and audio visual arts, serving the dual purpose of bringing together and involving interest communities and providing agile training tools.

The Exhibition (intervention A) takes place over 4 weeks, 30 days from Friday to Saturday.
